Training Manager – Ukraine At UK-Med



UK-Med is a humanitarian NGO with country office in Dnipro and based in Lviv and Kharkiv. UK Med contributes to reducing morbidity and mortality among local/IDP population due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, by providing the needed health services/healthcare to the vulnerable population, as well as Emergency Preparedness Trainings for civilians and first responders (police, emergency brigades, paramedics etc)

Currently we are looking for an experienced Training Manager to help us to develop and coordinate medical trainings program in Ukraine.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the training activities in UK-Med’s Ukraine Country Programme. The main responsibility is to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of trainers to improve overall productivity and effectiveness. The postholder will play an essential role in coordinating the scoping, planning and delivery of quality learning for both clinical staff, first responders and the civilian population in Ukraine, in addition to leading quality assurance and follow up processes.

Main responsibilities:

· Under the supervision of the Medical Coordinator to lead the training team, Identify the training needs through surveys, performance evaluations, and discussions with managers and trainers, implement the UK-Med training strategy.

· Write and lead implementation efforts for a UK-MED Training Strategy in Ukraine

· Coordinate and conduct needs assessments in close collaboration with the Health Team to ensure that training activities in Ukraine are relevant and addressing urgent needs

· Designs and develops training programs. These programs may include onboarding, technical skills training, leadership development, compliance training, and more.

· Creates or oversees the development of training materials, including presentations, handouts, videos, and online resources.

· Work with in-country partners and government officials in negotiating, advising about and planning training activities.

· Maintain overview of all training activities in Ukraine

· Ensure that all training materials are collated, maintained and updated to ensure high quality and standardised approaches and content.

· Work with SMEs on developing standardised training delivery materials

· Ensure that training delivery teams have the materials they need to deliver high-quality and impactful training (including certificates, attendance sheets, setting up standardised PowerPoint presentations, handouts for participants, etc.)

· Work closely with the trainers, Training Officer, MEAL Manager and wider team to ensure that training data is kept up to date.

· Work closely with Logistics Team to ensure that all logistics surrounding training delivery is cleared

· Work closely with Safety/Security Lead to ensure that trainings can be delivered safely

Necessary Knowledge and Skills

· Medical background (paramedic, ED nurse/MD, etc.)

· Experience in coordinating and/or managing humanitarian training and/or health programmes

· Experience coordinating training events, developing effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders

· Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills

· Advanced English and native Ukrainian/Russian

· Health background preferred but not essential

· Excellent MS Office skills (Excel – Word – PowerPoint) and managing e-mails.
