PROGRAM COORDINATOR A Location: Venezuela At Doctors of the World



Mission

The purpose of the position is to coordinate the necessary actions to ensure the correct management of the project cycle, and programs, in the country and implementation of the activities of Médicos del Mundo in Venezuela in accordance with the mission, vision and values ​​of the organization.

Geographical scope of intervention

The position is based in Caracas with regular trips to Sucre, Táchira, and Apure, mainly.

Hierarchical dependency of the Country Coordination and in close collaboration with the base coordinations, project technicians at headquarters and cross-cutting references.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development and management of projects in the different phases of the cycle: Identification and Design of Projects; Execution of the Projects; Monitoring and evaluation; Learning and Knowledge Management.
  • Ensure the implementation of the activities of active projects in the country to achieve the established objectives, results and indicators.
  • Support the Country Coordination in the representation of MdM projects before public health institutions, agencies, donors and non-governmental institutions.
  • Lead, contribute relevant tools and approaches/methodologies and ensure quality during project identification.
  • Plan and lead the formulation or reformulation of projects, in coordination with the Country Coordination and the rest of the team, based on the identification and specific requirements, ensuring the participation of the different partners and actors.
  • Participate in the formulation of project budgets, in coordination with the Country Administration.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) system of the projects together with the person responsible for monitoring.
  • Implement activity planning tools for each project.
  • Promote feedback and accountability mechanisms.
  • Ensure the safe storage of the technical information of the project (indicators and sources of verification).
  • Ensure constant technical monitoring of the projects to propose reorientation measures to the Country Coordination and the field team, ensuring spaces for coordination and review of the execution of activities.
  • Regularly monitor the general status of the Projects versus the budget established in the project proposals, ensuring, in coordination with the Country Administration, the correct allocation of expenses and financial programming.
  • Alert deviations and changes in indicators, context and activities and propose alternatives to guide projects to the reality of the context, partners, population, problems and needs.
  • Support in the elaboration of the ToR of the internal or external evaluations of the projects and ensure that the results are shared and reversed in the interventions of the projects.
  • Plan and lead the preparation of project reports (internal and external) ensuring the quality of the information and the formats, necessary annexes, for each donor and established standards
  • Training

    -Required: University Degree, highly valued degree in health sciences or other social and/or international cooperation disciplines. Strong knowledge of project cycle management (logical framework/results-oriented management/theory of change), public health and cross-cutting approaches.

    • Desirable: Training in Right to Health; public health, community health and/or sexual and reproductive health.

    Requirements

    Languages: Spanish, desirable English.

    Computing: Management of the office package and internet. Activity Info Management

    Experience

    – Experience in development and/or emergency public health projects, in topics such as primary health care, sexual and reproductive health, and mental and psychosocial health.

    – Demonstrable experience in the humanitarian field.

    – Experience in team management and training.

    – Experience in identification and formulation of projects, including instruments such as the logical framework, theory of change, etc.

    – Experience in articulation with communities and local authorities.

    – Attitude and spirit for teamwork, motivation, proactive and decisive attitude and analytical capacity.

    – Experience in community health, gender approach and interculturality.

    – Written and oral communication skills.

    – Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
