The program of Enteric and Respiratory Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division conduct research with vaccine trial unit for multiple projects like RSV, Polio, HEV, Flu vaccine etc. icddr,b is working for controlling enteric infections, detecting and controlling emerging and re-emerging infections with the collaboration of the relevant government and non-government stakeholders.

The Nurse will report to the Medical Officer and will be responsible for sample collection, vaccine administration, data entry and health care service delivery to the study participants with the objective of effective management of patients and attain study objectives within the guidelines of the research protocols; and organizational values and guidelines. The specific areas of responsibilities are detailed below:

• Collaborate with the physicians in taking a brief interview of the study participants and collect different samples maintaining all the aseptic measures;
• Administer the vaccination process of different study effectively;
• Enter data appropriately and help the physician to complete the visit procedures according to GCP guideline;
• Set plan, coordinate and work with team to implement research activities; Monitor risk management and infection control activities which includes but not limited to hand hygiene, handling of sharps, biomedical waste management, aseptic techniques etc.;
• Manage and organize the safe disposal of waste and hazardous substances at the study sites;
• Supervise attendants and other supporting staff;
• Check and maintain medical supplies for the study site;
• Ensure that all commodities and equipment used in and around the study clinic are clean and well maintained for ready to use, sensibly used and preserved/disposed appropriately;
• Report any incidence in the study clinic to the Physician(s).

• Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery / B Sc. in Nursing with valid registration from the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council;
• 1-year relevant experience. Candidates who have completed Fellowship in Nursing from icddr,b will get preference.

Location: Dhaka and Matlab

• Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

• Tk.43,423/- (consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and day-care facilities are subject to space availability.
