Who we are?
IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management
Specific Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular quality assurance visits to each assigned supported health facility in their area using IDA standard checklist
- Assess work quality each relevant department of health facility according to given checklist
- Submit weekly reports to supervisor in a timely manner
- Visit health facilities at least once a week to follow up with any issues raised by the medical team and submit a report
- Work as a focal point for reporting of communicable diseases and investigating potential outbreaks
- Review ambulance logs, ambulance use and their movement attached to a health facility and supported by IDA
- Coordinate with supervisor to map health facilities in their area of work and plan assessments
- Conduct a needs assessment using standardized IDA forms in coordination with MEAL staff
- Coordinate with Health Managers for verification of supplies delivered to health facilities
- Coordinate with Health managers for verification of monthly staffing lists
- Transmitting support requests from the field and delivering drugs and consumables
- Inform supervisor immediately in case of security situation in areas of responsibility and emergency health needs
- Work closely with IDA health staff to meet health project objectives and targets
- To respond to humanitarian emergencies under the management of health program manager
- Assist in training health staff to build capacity and ensure the maximum use of their skills, and their full and effective participation in health activities
- Support health program manager in the planning, development and implementation of the projects
- Support health commodities team and health facilities pharmacists in generating monthly drug consumption reports from the field
- Perform other duties as necessary to support with the HEALTH programing
Qualifications:
Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Must be a graduate of accredited Medical College with a valid license to practice
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience
- Must be able to submit reports and health facility data as required
- Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Must have the flexibility and ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures
- Working experience with humanitarian NGOs for at least two years, having practical knowledge and experience in the field of logistics, admin and finance preferably in the HEALTH sector.
- Strong leadership qualities and willingness to exercise initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at a time.
- Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Experience in managing staff and ability to operate in an insecure and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Experience working with international standards. Flexible, quick learner.
- Knowledge of the context in Northwest Syria and Azzaz sub-district in particular
- Good standing and reputation in the community
- Experience of working with local partners;
- Experience of conducting assessments and monitoring activities;
