The Federal Medical Centre, Gusau (FUGUS) was established by the Federal Government in 1998 and took off in 1999. It is situated in Gusau Zamfara State. The Mandates of Federal Medical Centre, Gusau are in line with that of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), which are focused towards providing efficient and affordable Health Care Services to the people of Nigeria. The Federal Medical Centre, Gusau also has mission to be a Centre of Excellence in the provision of Tertiary Health Care services that are acceptable and affordable to the community around and beyond its location.

Requirements
Applicants seeking appointment into the Residency Training Programme must possess the following:
- Evidence of graduation from any accredited Medical School (MBSS).
- Evidence of passing require examinations of either the National or West African.
- Postgraduate Medical Colleges in the candidate’s chosen field of specialization.
- Evidence of full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Evidence of current annual practicing license, and
- Evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption letter.
