The HR Department (HRD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) manages a Health, Mental Health & Wellness Program aimed at enhancing and facilitating employees’ access to relevant services. The program is administered by HRD’s Organizational Change Management Division in close collaboration with partners across HRD, the Corporate Services & Facilities Department (CSF), and the World Bank Group’s Health & Safety Directorate (HSD).

 

HRD is seeking a Human Resource Officer (Health, Mental Health & Wellness) based at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. on a contract for an initial period of one year at grades A11/A12. Any extension would be contingent upon business needs and budget availability.

 

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Division Chief, Organizational Change Management, the primary responsibility of the HR Officer will be to design and implement Fund-wide delivery strategies for health, mental health & wellness programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating stakeholders to promote delivery, communications and policy updates as needed in these areas.

 

Under the direction of the Division Chief, Organizational Change Management, the successful candidate will:

 

  • Design, develop, andimplementhealth, mental health & wellness initiativesat the Fund,incollaborationwithCSF, HSD,departmental managers,andthe network of departmental Mental HealthChampions;engage with counterpartsto understand specific business and workforce needs as they relate to staffmental health & wellness and implement related initiatives.
  • Implementthe IMF’sMental Health&WellnessStrategyin collaboration with internal counterparts, HSD, andthe United Nations Mental Health Strategy Implementation Board.
  • Promote health, mental health & wellness initiatives,including byraisingawarenessandprovidingtraining; clearlycommunicateprogramobjectivesto stakeholders;designandfacilitatesurveysandfocus groups;collectfeedback from participantsto drivecontinuousimprovement;developandmaintainkey performance indicators.
  • Take lead responsibility in the drafting of policy papersandprocedures;contribute to HR policy reforms when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and new policy and program developments;providechange managementsupportfor theimplementation ofprograms and policies.
  • Contribute tothe Organizational Change Management Division’s overall work program as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources or related field, supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years of relevant, professional work experience is required. Alternatively, a university degree, or equivalent, and ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, is required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and approach to teamwork, and proven ability toestablishand maintain effective relationships with staff and managers at all levels.
  • Able to learn quickly about client department’s core work and the Fund’s human resources policies and practices; willingness to question the status quo while at the same time having a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills, both oral and writing, and the proven ability to handle multiple/conflicting priorities and to work effectively under pressure.
  • Sound judgment and utmost discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive personnelcases;uses strategic judgment in understanding business needs toinitiateimprovements to Mental Health & Wellnessat the Fund.
  • Strong background in data analysis, and integrated IT platforms (for example, Excel, web applications, andPowerBIwill be highly desirable);ability toidentifyand applyhealth, mental health & wellnesstrends, marketresearchand relevant practices from comparator institutions.

 

This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service,contingent onperformance, budget availability,and continuedbusinessneed.
