Initiative for Justice Development and Peace Building in Nigeria (IJDPN) of the Catholic Diocese of Yola invites qualified and dedicated candidates to apply for the position of Medical Doctor. This project provides essential healthcare services to vulnerable populations across the 12 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camps within the Diocese [Girei, Yola North & Yola South to be specific].
About the Role:
The Medical Doctor will serve as part of the Mobile Clinic team, delivering secondary healthcare services to patients referred from the Primary Healthcare Unit of the project. The role requires a strong commitment to compassionate service, clinical excellence, and the ability to work effectivelyin resource‑limited and humanitarian settings.
In addition to mobile clinic duties, the successful candidate will also provide clinical services one day per week at St. Francis Hospital, Jambutu, located in Jimeta‑Yola.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high‑quality secondary medical care to patients in IDP camps across the Diocese.
- Conduct clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of referred cases.
- Support the Primary Healthcare Unit through expert consultation and case reviews.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with project protocols.
- Participate in mobile clinic outreach activities and contribute to health education initiatives.
- Offer clinical services at St. Francis Hospital Jambutu once weekly.
- Collaborate with project staff, community leaders, and partner organizations to strengthen healthcare delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 2–3 years post‑qualification clinical experience (experience in humanitarian or community health settings is an advantage).
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to multiple IDP camp locations within Adamawa State.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the Catholic Diocese of Yola.
Location:
Adamawa State, with regular field visits to IDP camps and weekly duty at St. Francis Hospital Jambutu, Jimeta‑Yola.
