Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital, Nkpor is owned by the religious institute of the Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ, Nigeria. The Hospital is a response to the demands of the Founder of the religious Institute – Most Rev. Charles Heery, CSSP of blessed memory. He founded the Institute out of the compassion he felt for the sick and needy of our society. This drive he bequeathed to his daughters.

Job Title:Â Medical Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality medical care through diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients.
- Conduct patient assessments, medical examinations, and appropriate clinical procedures.
- Prescribe medications and request appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records.
- Participate in ward rounds, emergency care, and on-call duties as required.
- Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient management.
- Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and infection prevention guidelines.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and hold a valid practicing license.
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or possess a certificate of exemption.
- Have relevant post-qualification clinical experience (an added advantage).
- Demonstrate good clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Possession of other relevant medical skills is an added advantage.
