North Littoral Medical Supervisor (F/M) – Dunkirk At Doctors of the World

Do you want to join an activist association and take concrete action for more social justice?

Médecins du Monde has been working for more than 40 years to treat the most vulnerable populations, denounce obstacles to access to care and sustainably develop health policies.

In France and in nearly 30 countries, our actions revolve around six political battles:

  • sexual and reproductive rights and health (including the right to abortion)
  • migration, exile, rights and health
  • risk reduction
  • environmental health
  • rights and health system
  • humanitarian spaces

The Médecins du Monde program on the Hauts-de-France coast has been helping exiled people stranded on the Franco-British border, from Calais to Dunkirk, for more than twenty years, waiting to try to reach the Kingdom- United.

In 2015 and 2016 this program urgently developed a very high operational volume. After the evacuation of the “Calais jungle” in the fall of 2016, then the destruction of the “Grande-Synthe camp” in March 2017, activity experienced a period of monitoring before resuming, during 2017, a volume operational which mobilizes a large team in a complex political context and a security context that could be degraded.

Operational activities are organized as follows:

  • Two “mobile clinic” sessions per week: primary health care medical consultations, mediation, support to common law care structures and mental health activities
  • Two weekly marauding and support sessions towards common law healthcare structures

Médecins du Monde is today a key health player across the entire coastline, which has a strong presence in inter-association and advocacy dynamics.

The position is part of a changing security context that can be degraded with a dedicated security protocol.
