Job Title: Medical Officer (Oncology)

Job Summary
- As the Medical Officer (Oncology), you will support oncology and radiotherapy services through patient care, treatment planning, clinical follow-up, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support radiotherapy planning through target-organ contouring, appropriate CT simulations, patient treatment, and authorized clinical procedures
- Conduct follow-up consultations, assess patients, review laboratory and radiology results, advise on clinical management, and provide guidance on radiation therapy, surgery, or chemotherapy
- Counsel patients and attendants on treatment, potential side effects, lifestyle and dietary changes, obtain informed consent, and maintain patient dignity and privacy
- Participate in tumour boards, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, seminars, quality improvement initiatives, and development/review of clinical treatment protocols
- Support staff training and CME, research and development, marketing lectures and educational materials, patient-experience initiatives, and research into new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or a related oncology specialty
- 3–5 years relevant experience in oncology or related clinical practice
- Proven experience in quality assurance, clinical audits, oncology treatment protocols, patient outcome tracking, and multidisciplinary case management
- Strong communication, leadership, training, evidence-based practice, and knowledge of current oncology technologies and advancement.
Salary
NGN 500,000 Monthly net.
