Job Summary
- We are seeking a competent, compassionate, and dedicated Medical Officer to join our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations, medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Take accurate patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Request and interpret laboratory and diagnostic investigations where necessary.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate medical advice.
- Monitor patients’ progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment.
- Attend to emergency cases and provide prompt medical intervention.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Participate in ward rounds and collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and professional standards.
- Participate in call duties and other clinical responsibilities as required.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Contribute to quality improvement and other hospital activities.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution with 2-3 years experience.
- Full registration and a valid practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Previous clinical experience is an advantage.
- Good clinical judgement and strong patient-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Compassionate, professional, and patient-centred approach to care.
