Objectives and responsibilities:
Contribute to the management of pharmaceutical supply at designated sites, under the supervision of the Mission Pharmacy Manager and in accordance with policies and protocols MSF, in order to help guarantee the proper management and adequate distribution of medicines and medical equipment:
- In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager, take part in the management and control of the project’s medical stock, so as to avoid shortages, losses or overstocking
- In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager, manage, on a monthly basis, the preparation and validation of orders and ensure that they arrive on time in order to avoid unnecessary intermediate orders. Investigate drug stock-out issues
- Contribute to the supervision, management, monitoring and control of the stock of medical supplies in offices, expat homes and cars MSF. Take a physical inventory, place orders and check expiration dates
- Contribute to the collection of healthcare center consumption data at least once a month and record the number of patients. Cooperate with the Pharmacy Manager in drafting the resulting monthly reports and under his/her supervision, communicate data to team members MSF concerned
- Improve and monitor the control system in place
- Assist counterparts in the Ministry of Health with their responsibilities regarding medication consumption, inventory management and order preparation/receipt
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment according to user manual instructions and protocols. Informs the medical supervisor in the event of a malfunction of a medical device.
- Contribute to the preparation and organization of training sessions also for others MSF
- Ensure the continuity of the program in the absence of the Supervisor or in the event of a handover; share your knowledge of the program with new team members as soon as possible and in an efficient and precise manner
- Ensure the rational use of medications in accordance with therapeutic protocols and recommendations in force.
- Supervise and support pharmacy assistants in their daily tasks.
- Analyze stock discrepancies, investigate the causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage temperature-sensitive products by ensuring compliance with the cold chain and temperature traceability.
- Supervise the storage and organization of stocks according to good storage practices (FEFO, specific conditions, product separation).
- Control the quality of products received and guarantee their compliance with current standards.
- Provide technical support and advice to medical teams on medication use and management.
Selection profile:
Education : Qualified pharmacist, higher diploma required.
Experience : Experience in local pharmaceutical systems (Ministry of Health, private), an asset. Demonstrated experience in team supervision and training.
Languages : Creole and French essential.
