JOB SUMMARY

The FO Doctor will be responsible to provide direct health services to patients attending the MedGlobal site in Medellin. The FO Doctor will follow MedGlobal protocols, values and universal principles on health care standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide high quality medical care, adhering to International standards for health care.
  • Performs clinical duties at the MedGlobal site in Medellin bus terminal providing health consultations to adults, children, elderly and pregnant patients.
  • Provide appropriate medical information to each patient regarding their illnesses or health conditions, satisfying user’s needs and in a framework of cordiality and respect.
  • Prepare the patient’s medical history, applying the rights of users.
  • Perform anamnesis and physical examination taking into account the patient’s conditions.
  • Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose, treat and prevent medical cases.
  • For clinical diagnosis, provide interpretation of diagnostic images and diagnostic support tests.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Be available should any medical inquiry arise at the clinic or by any other MedGlobal medical staff.
  • Notify the occurrence of adverse events. Reports any issues, concerns, problems, feedback and suggestions regarding clinic and patient care to MedGlobal Country Representative and MedGlobal Project Director in a timely manner.
  • All events of public health interest must be reported and referred to the referral system available.
  • Apply biosafety standards in accordance with the technical criteria and parameters established in the Biosafety Manual and in the Comprehensive Management Plan for Hospital and Similar Waste (PGIRHyS).
  • Know and follow the clinical guidelines and medical care protocols and contribute to the periodic updating of such evidence-based documents.
  • Endorse with your signature, code and seal, all the documents that require it and request the user’s signature or fingerprint in case the user is prevented from signing.
  • Use all the elements of equipment as biosecurity measures.
  • Use hygiene standards to keep all areas clean and safe for staff and beneficiaries.
  • Monitor the optimal conditions of the inventory and the adequate conservation of equipment and materials.
  • Comply with MedGlobal policies, rules and regulations.
  • Comply with the proper fill out of the MedGlobal medical record both electronic and in paper.
  • Assists to create new and/or revised processes for clinic functions.
  • Notify MedGlobal of all cases that needs a referral and/or specialty care
  • Assists in oversight of the patient referral process at the clinic for volunteer providers.
  • Attends scheduled meetings with MedGlobal leadership as requested.
  • Contribute to MedGlobal social media presence.
  • Provide patients with information about referral systems available when needed.
  • Comply with other activities related to this role requested by MedGlobal.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting clinical processes, implementation of health projects, health reporting programs, and other.
  • Medical Doctor diploma and RETHUS registration.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Previous NGO work.
  • Experience with migrant and refugee populations.
  • Team work.
  • Working under pressure.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to keep its superiors informed about project’s updates and progress.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, problem solve, anticipate challenges, and handle data with confidentiality.
  • Strong skills working with a variety of systems and technologies, including but not limited to Google Suite, Microsoft office, Excel, Adobe PDF.
