Job Title: Anaesthetic Technician
Location:Â Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Allied Health Services
Summary of Responsibilities
- Assisting anaesthesia providers (anaesthesiologists, physician anaesthetists etc. ) in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of anaesthesia during surgical procedures.
- This includes but is not limited to setup of equipment, patient preparation, monitoring, medication administration, trouble shooting, sterilization and maintenance of equipment, record keeping, emergency response etc..
Job Requirements
- WASSCE / SSCE or equivalent
- Relevant post-matric qualification
- Registration with the relevant regulatory body
- At least 2 years’ experience in a hospital environment
- Competency to carry out required duties
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a calm, confident and caring manner
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team with patients, doctors and other healthcare workers
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good hand to eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
- Able to concentrate for long periods.
