Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensuring the accurate collection of blood samples, crucial for diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
- Ensuring the correct labelling and organizing of samples, proper handling and transport of specimens to the laboratory whilst adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols and providing a high level of patient care and comfort.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and patient care is essential for the successful operation of the hospital.
Job Requirements
- WASSCE / SSCE / or equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ASCP, NHA).
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to blood collection.
- Understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Meticulous with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Physical dexterity and stamina for prolonged standing and repetitive tasks.
