Your working environment

Action Against Hunger has been working in the DRC since 1997 with programs in nutrition-health, food security and livelihoods, and WASH. ACF implements emergency response and development programs to reduce morbidity and mortality due to malnutrition. Multisectoral approaches integrating nutrition and WASH in line with the national strategy are being implemented in 6 provinces.

One of the main areas of expertise of’’ACF in DRC is the rapid response to nutritional crises, operational since 2008 with financial support from donors such as UNICEF, ECHO and DFID. Thanks to several years of deployment of its emergency pool via the PUNC funded by DFID and the RRCN funded by ECHO, we have extensive experience in rapid deployments and effective monitoring of life-saving treatments in emergency situations. Since 2008, more than 100 nutritional surveys and more than 60,000 malnourished children have been treated via ACF emergency response teams. Over the past four years, ACF has carried out more than 35 rapid response interventions across the country, including central and eastern Kasai provinces,Sankuru, Kwilu, Kwangu, Ecuador, Tshuapa, Maniema and Tanganyka. Currently ACF operates in the provinces of North and South Kivu, Kasai and Kasai Central.

Your position and responsibilities

 

Under the supervision of the field coordinator, your missions will be as follows:

  • Ensure the implementation of quality and the monitoring of projects of nutrition and health programs.
  • Pilot, set up and supervise the activities of nutrition/health projects ;
  • Manage, coach, train ACF teams and develop their skills ;
  • Develop and participate in the nutrition/health strategy and’writing of new interventions ;
  • Represent ACF and develop local partnerships.

Your profile

You have a’studies level : BAC + 3 Nutrition health or related field (nurse, doctor, midwife, Master in public health);

You have at least 2 years of’ experience in project management (including’teams management) in the’humanitaire in a complex context ;

You have knowledge of the project cycle : FIMAC, Community engagement approach, Primary health care including SR, Health personnel training ;

You have a proven track record in budget monitoring, and proven skills in needs assessment ;,

You have a perfect command of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook, internet ;

You have demonstrated training capabilities and are committed to building skills and empowering your teams ;

You have knowledge of commitment to the objectives and principles of’Action Against Hunger intervention and standard documents

Your conditions of’emploi

  • Fixed term contract of 5 months according to the French or Congolese labor law
