Position title: Consultant in charge of visibility and resource mobilization for the health and environment program

Supervisor : External Relations Manager (ERO)

Department: WHO Madagascar

Duration of the contract: 60 working days from January 2024  to April 2024.

   A- CONTEXTE 

The World Health Organization, through its health and environment program, in collaboration with the external relations team and the WHO regional office for Africa (AFRO) wishes to organize a meeting during the month of April 2024 with technical and financial partners (PTF) present and operating in the Republic of Madagascar.

The objective of the meeting is to: a) position WHO as a leader on health and environment issues; b) inform the various TFPs of the WHO’s priorities at the global and regional level for its health and environment program 3) initiate a dialogue with the various TFPs with a view to broad mobilization of resources.

     B-  LIVRABLES

· Mapping of technical and financial partners operating in the environment and health sector in Madagascar

· Information sheet on the health and environment program and its activities in Madagascar

·Support for the preparation of an information meeting of PTFs: development of an agenda, invitation, support for the preparation of the  presentation, summary of the meeting, broadcast of the event in collaboration with the communications department.

·   Support for the preparation of the AFRO mission to Madagascar: preparation of the agenda, organization of meetings with members of the government.

·      First draft of a financing proposal to be presented at the PTFs information meeting. 

      C-      QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification
· Master’s degree in public health, medicine, biology, environment and health, international relations or who can demonstrate knowledge of the subject through relevant professional experience.  

Experience  

·         At least 3 years of experience working with international organizations in a development context.

·         Professional experience at WHO or another international public health organization (desirable).

·         Desirable: work experience in Madagascar.

·         Experience in organizing events with international donors and UN entities.

 

SKILLS Writing reports and proposals with distinct stakeholders within national/international organizations desirable.

Work in culturally distinct environments

Languages  

·Excellent knowledge of French, Malagasy and English.

 D- SUPERVISION  

The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the external relations manager (ERO) and in close collaboration with the health and environment program manager with the support of AFRO (UHP Cluster)

  E LIEU

Antananarivo (Madagascar) 

The consultant will also be able to work from home while being available to work in the national office.
