Overview of position
- Under the supervision of the migrant resource center manager and the direct and technical supervision of the head nurse, the candidate will be responsible for providing medical assistance in the migrant reception centers.
Role objectives
- Under the technical supervision of the major (and doctors), and under the general supervision of the center managers,
- Ensure the permanence and guards in the infirmaries of the various reception centers according to the schedule established for this purpose;
- Carry out medical checks on arrival of migrants at the centres;
- Provide medical consultation activities for beneficiaries at the centers and locations indicated as needed
- Provide medical care and ensure continuity and monitoring of the patient being treated;
- Facilitate referral of patients to appropriate health services, including mental health services for better management;
- Conduct regular visits to the health services where patients are kept to ensure the progress of the beneficiaries’ state of health;
- Contribute to creating an environment favorable to the medical care of patients;
- Participate in the organization of Fitness To Travel (FTT) assessments for beneficiaries
- Participate in search and rescue missions for migrants in distress alongside other IOM units with a view to providing emergency medical assistance;
- Organize medical escorts for beneficiaries whose health conditions require it;
- Organize monitoring activities through regular visits to the various dormitories and key areas in order to check the health and hygiene conditions of beneficiaries at the reception centers, reception sites/villas, train stations, and other places indicated as needed;
- Participate in collaboration with other units of the centers in awareness sessions on hygiene and prevention principles for beneficiaries;
- Ensure the maintenance of hygiene and sanitation in the infirmary and centers;
- Ensure the collection and recording of data relating to medical activities carried out, in accordance with the procedures in place;
- Ensure effective management of medicines and medical supplies by regularly maintaining a consumption register;
- Facilitate the administrative monitoring of the service;
- Participate in internal IOM coordination meetings;
- Prepare all administrative documents, reports among others to submit on time to supervisors;
- Any other tasks that may be assigned to him.

Key skills
EDUCATION
- Holder of a state nursing diploma
EXPERIENCE
- At least (3) three years of experience in the field of health, hygiene and nursing;
- Experience in humanitarian activities;
- Proficiency in Word and Excel;
- Knowledge of the migration context a plus;
- Knowledge of General Medicine,
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
Languages
REQUIRED
- Fluency in French (oral and written) is required; <insert required language/s>
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge/proficiency in English, Arabic, local and regional languages ​​is an advantage
