Job Title:Â Associate Medical Officer
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
Provide Quality Patient Care:
- See patients and listen carefully to their health concerns
- Examine patients, order tests, and make clear treatment plans
- Give safe, evidence-based care following clinic guidelines
- Write notes and prescriptions neatly and on time
Educate and Counsel Patients:
- Explain health conditions and treatment plans in plain language
- Teach patients how to take medicines and when to come for review
- Encourage healthy habits such as good diet, exercise, and rest
- Check that patients understand what to do at home
Work With Other Medical Team Members:
- Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, and other team members for excellent patient care delivery
- Share updates and referrals clearly with other healthcare providers and specialists
- Help new staff learn clinical routines and patient-care steps
Improve Health Programs and Services:
- Join efforts to track clinic performance and patient outcomes
- Support community health checks and wellness programs
- Help collect data for reports and improvement plans from health checks and wellness programs
Ensure Professional Conduct:
- Keep patient information private and secure
- Be on time, respectful, and ready to work well with others
- Follow all clinic rules and medical ethics
- Keep learning to stay up to date in medical practice
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum qualification of MBBS or MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- 0 – 1 year Post NYSC experience
- Valid license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
- Completed NYSC with evidence of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption
- Stay within 10km radius of the specific RFC applied for
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with digital health tools or EMR systems (not explicitly listed but highly valuable)
- Previous experience in public speaking and health education
- Ability to work 12hours shift within a clinic setting
