Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against world hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has founded its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies linked to conflict and natural disasters. Mission :
Within the Operations Department, you will support the Deputy Deputy Director of Emergencies in the emergency preparedness and response strategy of the assigned countries.
More precisely, your role will be to:
Participate in the definition and updating of the approach and tools linked to planning and preparation at the mission level (development, contextualization of tools, methodology, orientations, training and procedures). Depending on the identified needs of the national offices, you will participate in the development of the list of priorities in terms of preparation, strengthening and overall planning.
Conduct field visits to work on “Readiness” with mission-level coordination teams and provide regular remote support for targeted missions (workshops, Forums, after-action review/analysis exercises, implementation place and operationalization of emerging preparation approaches; in person or remotely).
Ensure that feedback at country level is integrated into an overall plan to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of “Readiness” at the institutional level.
Support missions in their responses to emergencies and provide support on other activities related to data, analyses, communications, reports (KPIs, quarterly dashboards, etc.) and draft proposals, as needed.
Participate in other tasks related to the objectives and needs of the ERRU team, in particular fundraising, exploratory or evaluation missions, responses to emergencies and mission openings.
Ensure coordination and collaboration with key interlocutors within the ERRU team and in the different departments and pools (national offices, regional focal points, technical managers) in order to create synergies and enable quality support to the countries to which you are affected.
Profile :
You have at least 3 years of experience in emergency preparation and coordination, in a senior leadership position (Country Director, Deputy Country Director, Zone Coordinator) within different humanitarian contexts.
You ideally have WASH or FSL expertise, as well as successful field experience with Action Against Hunger. You know how to manage and follow a budget.
You are a teacher and a good communicator. You are able to listen and share information with different stakeholders.
You are comfortable with leading and facilitating workshops and training.
You have a good analytical mind and the ability to develop a strategic vision.
You speak French and English fluently. Other languages are appreciated (Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese…).
Terms of employment
This position involves 70% field travel in different countries.
For candidates based in France:
Status: Integrated Manager – Permanent contract – Full-time
Location: Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis)
Remuneration: From 40K to 47K euros gross annual over 13 months depending on experience
Benefits: 21 days of RTT
Health coverage, welfare: 80% covered by ACF
Transport allowances: 50% covered by the package between home and work
Compensation Restaurant tickets (Up lunch card): 60% covered by the association for a value of 8euros

Teleworking: Teleworking open to all from the metropolitan area
No face-to-face attendance required for this position
Required collective face-to-face time: for meetings and collective events ( up to 3 days per month) and 2 days of mandatory presence when you join the team
Teleworking allowances
For candidates based outside France:
Fixed-term contract under French law: 12 months renewable
Gross monthly salary: from 2597 to 2968 euros depending on experience
Specific multi-country post allowance: 15% of monthly salary gross
Increase in base salary: 6% for every 12 months of continuous contract

Leave and RnR: 25 days per year of CP and 20 RnR per year
