Description

  • We are currently hiring a Medical Officer role to support our Reliance Family Clinic Team.
  • This role is part of our clinical team, dedicated to delivering high-quality primary care to our patients.
  • The ideal candidate will be confident in providing appropriate counselling to patients of all ages and varying levels of health literacy and will have a strong interest in contributing to ongoing innovations that enhance primary care delivery.

Responsibilities
Provide Quality Patient Care:

  • See patients and listen carefully to their health concerns.
  • Examine patients, order tests, and make clear treatment plans.
  • Give safe, evidence-based care following clinic guidelines.
  • Write notes and prescriptions neatly and on time.

Educate and Counsel Patients:

  • Explain health conditions and treatment plans in plain language.
  • Teach patients how to take medicines and when to come for review.
  • Encourage healthy habits such as a good diet, exercise, and rest.
  • Check that patients understand what to do at home.

Work with Other Medical Team members:

  • Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, and other team members for excellent patient care delivery.
  • Share updates and referrals clearly with other healthcare providers and specialists.
  • Help new staff learn clinical routines and patient-care steps.

Improve Health Programs and Services:

  • Join efforts to track clinic performance and patient outcomes.
  • Support community health checks and wellness programs.
  • Help collect data for reports and improvement plans from health checks and wellness programs.

Ensure Professional Conduct:

  • Keep patient information private and secure.
  • Be on time, respectful, and ready to work well with others.
  • Follow all clinic rules and medical ethics.
  • Keep learning to stay up to date in medical practice.

Requirements
Required:

  • Minimum qualification of MBBS or MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • 0 – 1 year Post NYSC experience
  • Valid license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Completed NYSC with evidence of NYSC discharge certificate or exemption.
  • Stay within a 10km radius of the specific RFC applied for.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with digital health tools or EMR systems (not explicitly listed but highly valuable).
  • Previous experience in public speaking and health education.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift within a clinic setting.
