The Patriarch of the House of Igbinedion and Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir (Chief) Gabriel Igbinedion, on Sunday August 13, 2014 reiterated his dedication to God and service to humanity. The Church service was held at God’s Historic Chapel located at his residence in GRA, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The event was was attended by a galaxy of personalities including some palace Chiefs, the Christian Community, friends and well wishers of the House of Igbinedion. Speaking at the event, the Esama who attributed his birth and success in life to the mercies of God, appealed to all present to draw his attention whenever he goes wrong, assuring that he would incline his ears to such good advice. The Esama noted that the year 2014 will mark his 80th Birthday, adding that the celebration had just begun. He also promised to help erect a befitting edifice for the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) during the tenure of the incumbent national President, Rev. (Dr.) Felix Omobude. The event featured rendition of hymns and special prayers for the House of Igbinedion.

- The Governing Council of Igbinedion University Okada is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and exceptional medical doctors holding the rank of Professor.
- Candidates should possess significant experience in university teaching, medical research, and administration for the position of Chief Medical Director of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Okada.
- The ideal candidate shall be the Head and Chief Executive Officer of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital responsible for leadership, management and development of the hospital and spearheading the realization of its vision and mission.
- He/She shall be responsible to the Governing Council for the execution of policies and programmes affecting the day-to-day administration of the Hospital.
- Have wide academic and administrative experience in the University, government, or industry, and capable of giving dynamic leadership to the University teaching hospital.
- Be capable of linking quality research to industry in order to promote innovation.
- Have capacity to foster international partnerships and facilitate students and faculty exchanges.
- Possess high reputation nationally and internationally, with capacity to command the respect of national and international academic communities through his or her track records.
- Possess strong leadership qualities to successfully lead a group of well-informed and articulate academic community.

- Possess a valid Medical or Dental practice license registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with not less than fifteen (15) years of post-graduation experience.
- Hold fellowship status from either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African Postgraduate Medical College or its equivalent, registerable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
- Be a Professor and erudite scholar in their chosen specialization, deeply rooted in the finest academic traditions.
- Have served as a Consultant for a minimum of five (5) years.
- Should not exceed 60 years of age at the time of assuming office.
- Provide evidence of Medical Research, demonstrate the ability to attract research grant(s), and possess knowledge of information and communications technology, which are considered added advantages.
- Submit a Vision Statement for the Hospital outlining plans for the next four (4) years, within a maximum of 1000 words.
- Include in the Curriculum Vitae the names and addresses of three (3) referees, with at least one referee being a Senior Medical or Dental Practitioner with not less than twenty (20) years of standing. Referees should be capable of attesting to the candidate’s academic, professional, and managerial abilities. Recommendation letters from the referees should accompany the application.
- The appointment is for an initial term of four (4) years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance at the discretion of the Board of Regents of Igbinedion University, Okada.
