Background

Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.

C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.

C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion,

promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE)
  • Certificate in Community Health, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field (advantage)
  • Training in Health Promotion, PSEA, Safeguarding, GBV, WASH, or First Aid is an advantage
  • Fluency in local languages and familiarity with the community

Experience

  • 6 months to 1 year experience working directly with communities
  • Experience in community mobilization, health promotion, or outreach
  • Experience with NGOs, CBOs, or humanitarian programs is an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Conduct community sensitization on key health topics (HIV, malaria, nutrition, maternal health, WASH)
  • Facilitate group discussions, household visits, and awareness campaigns
  • Support identification and referral of vulnerable individuals
  • Encourage use of health services and refer clients appropriately
  • Support facility outreach activities and follow-up visits
  • Maintain proper documentation of mobilization activities
  • Sensitize communities on Complaint & Feedback Mechanisms (CFM)
  • Promote awareness on PSEA and safeguarding reporting channels
  • Uphold organizational safeguarding standards
  • Record attendance, referrals, and key activities daily
  • Submit weekly reports to supervisors
  • Work with community leaders and facility staff at all levels
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and supportive supervision
  • Assist in emergency response activities when needed
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
