Job Description
Within the unit, you will play a central role in clinical practice, training, departmental organisation and research. Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Acting as joint medical director of the Polyclinic for Tropical Medicine, Travel and Vaccination (Tropivac) (in collaboration with the head physician);
- Participating in strategic decision-making for the Global and Environmental Health sector;
- Supporting the Tropivac nurse manager in the organisation and management of the department;
- Supervising and mentoring clinic heads, assistant doctors and nurses, and taking part in the clinical on-call rota;
- Actively train clinic heads and assistant doctors in vaccination, tropical and travel medicine, and global health;
- Teach at postgraduate level (health professionals) and undergraduate level (students from the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, and possibly other faculties);
- Supervise Master’s dissertations and doctoral theses in medicine, as well as PhD theses;
- Participate in ongoing research projects and commissions relating to global health and environment;
- Secure research funding and subsequently lead the corresponding research projects.
Your qualifications :
- Holder of a federal medical degree or a qualification recognised as equivalent by MEBEKO;
- FMH specialisation in tropical and travel medicine or an equivalent qualification (global health);
- Experience in tropical or subtropical countries, as well as in a vaccination centre;
- Experience in outpatient medicine;
- University accreditation to teach at undergraduate level (PD-MER or equivalent);
- Experience in clinical or epidemiological research in vaccinology and/or tropical medicine and/or global health;
- Experience in managing a clinical team and a research team;
- An interest in supervising trainee doctors and nurses;
- Experience or sound knowledge of the impact of environmental risks (climate, biodiversity, etc.) on health;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
- Proficiency in French and English at B2 level.
