Context and organizational scope
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Agency for Migration, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM promotes the orderly and humane management of migration, boosts international cooperation on migration issues, supports practical solutions to emerging challenges and provides humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including internally displaced persons.

1. Support the deployment and operational monitoring of Mobile Health Teams in communities affected by the earthquake.
2. Support the periodic updating of mappings of health establishments, service provision points, transitional camps and existing reference mechanisms in the affected areas, in coordination with health authorities and humanitarian actors.
3. Contribute to the monitoring of public health alerts and priority events identified during the response.
4. Support the coordination of mobile health days, patient referral and community health promotion actions.
5. Participate in joint monitoring visits with health authorities, donors and implementing partners.
6. Monitor the functional availability of medications, medical supplies and basic equipment of mobile health teams.
7. Support the collection, consolidation and validation of data for SITREPs, emergency reports and information products.
8. Support the implementation of accountability mechanisms for affected populations (AAP), community feedback and community participation.
9. Timely identify operational challenges, implementation risks and coverage gaps, proposing corrective actions.
10. Deliver on the last day of each month a consolidated report for the month on the activities carried out, the status of execution and the beneficiaries achieved during that month, including qualitative information and the analysis of the challenges, opportunities and good practices derived from field interventions
11. Maintain a general file of documentation in accordance with IOM guidelines.
12. Maintain professionalism, respect and good image of the organization.

14. Perform other related tasks that are necessary to achieve the set objectives.

Required qualifications and experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine issued by an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; either
• Secondary education diploma (baccalaureate), with five years of relevant professional experience.
• You must submit: Copy of the University Degree of Doctor, Letter of completion of Article 8 and the Registration and Solvency of the College of Physicians of the state where you will practice.Accredited universities are those listed in UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience

• Experience in implementation, monitoring or coordination of health projects, humanitarian action or emergency response.
• Experience working in the field with vulnerable communities and populations affected by emergencies or disasters.
• Experience in coordination with health authorities, community organizations and implementing partners.
• Experience in health programs, community health, migrant health, disaster response or early recovery is desirable.
• Experience in monitoring systems, data collection and monitoring of humanitarian indicators is desirable.

Skills

• Basic knowledge about the project cycle
• Skills to accompany the team of health professionals
• Knowledge of the principles of humanitarian action, inter-institutional coordination and emergency response
• Advanced use of the Office package, digital tools for data collection, monitoring and reporting, including Kobo Toolbox, and collaborative platforms.

Languages

All IOM staff, in all categories, must be fluent in at least one of the official IOM languages (English, French or Spanish)

Fluency in Spanish (oral and written) is required for this position.

Desirable: Practical knowledge of English
