Description
- A General Practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who serves as the initial and primary point of contact for patients.
- They provide ongoing, comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families of all ages, managing common illnesses, diagnosing early symptoms, and coordinating specialized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial Diagnosis & Treatment: Evaluating symptoms, ordering laboratory tests, and prescribing medications for both acute and chronic conditions.
- Preventive Care: Conducting routine medical checkups, immunizations, and health screenings.
- Care Coordination: Referring patients to appropriate medical specialists or hospitals for advanced care.
- Holistic Management: Considering the intersection of physical, psychological, and social factors in a patient’s overall well-being.
Salary
N200,000 – N400,000 per month.
