Solthis is a global health NGO, created 20 years ago, which works for prevention and access to quality care for all, by sustainably strengthening health systems and services. We work on the health issues of women, mothers and children, and on major pandemics, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis. Solthis is a development NGO, present in West Africa with 6 country offices and which, in partnership with local stakeholders, deploys projects including operational research, capacity building and advocacy components.

In order to complete the operational team based at headquarters, we are looking for a:
Health Promotion Referent
Duration of contract : CDI
Base of assignment : Abidjan (preferentially) or Dakar with travel in West and Central Africa (30-40%)

CHALLENGES
Under the supervision of the Health Promotion Center Referent based at the headquarters in Paris, the Health Promotion Referent will have the mission of guaranteeing the quality of the interventions developed and implemented on related projects. with its areas of expertise: health promotion, strengthening the power to act, and contributing to the capitalization and valorization of these interventions.

SPECIFIC MISSIONS
In order to carry out his mission, the Health Promotion representative will have the following responsibilities:
Participation in the Association’s strategic discussions and the definition of strategic orientations linked to areas of expertise
- Contributes to ensuring scientific, technical and methodological monitoring in its areas of expertise: health promotion including gender, strengthening of power to act and community action.
- Contributes to the development of the association’s strategic orientations in its areas of expertise and the implementation of associated operational documents.
Supports the implementation of projects/technical assistance in support of country teams and in collaboration with technical advisors:
- Supports the completion of community diagnostics including the analysis of health determinants such as gender, social-cultural, economic factors, etc.
- Supports the implementation of health promotion interventions deployed in projects such as:
- Integration of activities aimed at prevention, Risk Reduction and access to care at a fixed location and in outreach (health education, talks, awareness-raising activities, self-care devices, etc.)
- Design and deployment of educational tools and materials, training and support systems for actors involved in projects and more particularly community health workers, peer educators, APS/ CPS mobilized in public and community health centers (classroom training, tutoring, outreach support, etc.)
- Support for the deployment of systems for collecting, compiling, analyzing and using data and indicators aimed at documenting interventions and their results
- Supports reporting to ensure the quality of relevant sections of project reports.
- Forms the Association’s teams:
- Support, monitoring and training missions for teams on health and gender promotion
- Support country teams in recruiting human resources involved in projects
Participation in the production and valorization of knowledge (linked to monitoring-evaluation):
- Organizes and monitors targeted research and capitalization actions in partnership with Solthis teams and national partners.
- Participates in the production and valorization of knowledge through the writing of articles and policy notes in partnership with national teams and partners and participates in events and conferences in their areas of expertise.
- Participates in the development of advocacy and communication actions based on the activities carried out in the projects, in conjunction with national partners (CSOs and institutions)
Participation in project development
- Participates in the development of projects/TAs related to their areas of expertise: writes, validates or coordinates the technical part of responses to calls for projects or expressions of interest and calls for applications/consultancy.
Develop the network of experts and technical partners
- Identifies partnerships, maintains and develops a network of actors/partners in his area of expertise.
- Contributes to the association’s communication and advocacy actions in its field.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Initial training:
Master’s level training in public health or social sciences or health promotion
Experience :
- Experience of at least 5 years in the implementation and evaluation of health promotion projects in resource-limited contexts, experience in West Africa is required
- At least 2 years ‘ experience implementing gender-sensitive and transformative projects
- Experience in training and support through active teaching methods, tutoring, group leadership, in particular.
Qualities & Skills:
For this position we are looking for the candidate who will have expertise in the following areas:
- Mastery of the health promotion approach and methodologies for strengthening the power to act and participatory methods, particularly for APS and peer educators
- Methodological, organizational and structural support for associative and community actors
- Teaching and listening, having good interpersonal and adaptation skills, being autonomous and being able to work in partnerships and in a network.
- Writing and synthesis skills and you speak, read and write in French and English
- In-depth knowledge of community systems and operations in at least 1 West African country

REMUNERATION
Salary: Depending on the status of the contract: National or International and experience in a similar position according to the SOLTHIS remuneration scales
