The primary objective of the project which is under the Infectious Disease Division is to evaluate LAM POC as a triage test to detect TB. Collection and testing of Exhaled breath condensation (EBC) from suspected patients will add additional value to diagnose disease from sputum-free samples.
Position Description:
The Health worker will report to the Associate Scientist and will be mainly responsible for supporting project implementation. S/he will be involved in:
- Visit field sites as per the plan of the Supervisor
- Collection of biological samples (breath samples, urine, sputum, etc)
- Transport samples to the laboratory
- Collect clinical data
- Counsel and encourage participants for follow-up visits
- Organize field logistics support and frequently deliver supplies to the field
Required qualifications and experience:
- Minimum S.S.C pass;
- 2 years experience in relevant field;
- Previous experience to collect urine and sputum samples from suspected TB patients will be required.

Contract Type and Duration:
- CSA basis for 3 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance
Salary & benefits:
- Tk. 26,580/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
