Introduction

Description of the Assignment: UNDP is seeking the services of an Individual Consultant to serve as Ecosystem Manager for the timbuktoo HealthTech Hub in Kigali, Rwanda, under the timbuktoo Initiative / Regional Programme for Africa.

The consultant will support the establishment and strengthening of a vibrant, inclusive and connected HealthTech innovation ecosystem in Rwanda and across Africa. The assignment will focus on ecosystem mapping and stakeholder engagement, community and event coordination, communications and visibility, partnership coordination, data and knowledge management, reporting, and quality assurance.

The consultant will engage with startups, investors, universities, government institutions, health-sector actors, regulators, development partners, corporates and other relevant ecosystem stakeholders. The consultant will also coordinate approved Hub events and community activities, maintain stakeholder and partner databases, support communication and visibility activities, document results and success stories, and ensure effective coordination with the timbuktoo central communications and events functions.

The consultant will work under the supervision of the Programme Manager and overall direction of the Hub Manager, in close coordination with the AI Lab Manager and relevant timbuktoo/UNDP teams.

 

Period of assignment/services: 01 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, for a total of 240 working days over 12 months, primarily based in Kigali, Rwanda, with potential authorized missions within Rwanda and other African locations as required.
