Area of activity
The project „ Support of the ‚ Global Health Protection Program ‘ “ (GHPP) has been commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). As a contribution by the federal government to coping with international health crises, the GHPP helps prepare countries for health threats so that they can better fight outbreaks and epidemics. Around 40 projects with a focus on Africa are currently being funded and implemented by seven German specialist institutions worldwide. The second phase of the GHPP has been running until December 2025 since January 2023; a third phase is planned from 2026.
The GIZ project supports and advises the BMG on the implementation and further development of the funding program. For this purpose, the project takes over the function of the GHPP office in Berlin with the following services: support for the control of the program, management of the funding program, program monitoring, capacity development and networking as well as communication and public relations. You can expect to work in a small, agile, interdisciplinary team in which you contribute to the functioning of the office.
Your tasks
As part of your internship, you have following tasks:
- Support in the day-to-day business of the office, e.g. Postal maintenance, creation of presentations, research work
- Support for public relations, especially creation of editorial articles for the website and other communication and PR products
- Supporting the organization and implementation of online training for the projects involved, e.g. Participant management
- Support for the conception and implementation of networking offers for the institutes, including. Maintenance of the GHPP exchange platform and technical support for the participants
- Support for monitoring the program, e.g. by checking data entries
your profile
- University studies from the fourth semester, in the areas of health sciences, global health, public health or political or social sciences with a focus on health
- Previous experience in the field of international cooperation, cooperation with ministries as well as in the area of public relations and / or event management are an advantage
- Initial experiences in countries in the Global South are an advantage
- Strategic, analytical and interdisciplinary thinking
- Proven organizational skills and initiative
- Very good oral and written expression in scientific and generally understandable language
- Good knowledge of common Microsoft applications
- Previous experience with MS teams and initial experience with WordPress or other CMS systems are an advantage
- Very good knowledge of German and English; Knowledge of French is an advantage
