Area of activity
In order to strengthen Germany’s contribution to global health, to use expertise from non-governmental areas and to improve coordination, the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) initiated the establishment of the Global Health Hub Germany (GHHG) in 2019. The Global Health Hub Germany is an independent network based in Germany that brings together actors from various areas of society (science, business, civil society, politics, etc.) and sectors (health, environment, climate, food, agriculture, education, research, development cooperation, etc.). The GHHG office is provided by GIZ.
The GHHG aims to be the foundation of a strong and inspiring German contribution to global health. Through the active membership of the relevant German global health actors, the hub wants to provide added value for the ecosystem. The results of the member collaboration based on their expertise and diversity of perspectives are intended to have a positive and lasting impact on debates on global health in Germany. The Global Health Hub Germany is intended to provide political decision-makers with highly relevant access to the knowledge and perspectives of global health actors. This involves promoting cross-sectoral and cross-actor exchanges and cooperation on global health in the sense of a multi-actor partnership (SDG17).
Your tasks
As part of your internship, you will have the following tasks, among others:
- Support in the preparation, implementation and documentation of a series of events with political decision-makers
- Support in the preparation, implementation and documentation of various internal and external events (including. Meetings of the GHHG steering committee, a parliamentary evening, webinars)
- Support for cooperation with the political area (German Bundestag and Federal Government) (for example, preparation of results of the Global Health Hub Germany, support for communication with relevant actors, preparation and follow-up of meetings with political actors)
- Content management of the digital platform for hub members (collaboration space) including planning and implementation of participation opportunities, such as surveys
- Writing articles for the website and newsletters
- Support in supporting members, hub communities and their community products (such as policy papers) and in building partnerships
Your profile
- They study at least from the fifth semester in the field of social, political, economic or health sciences – preferably with a focus on public/international/global health or international relations
- Previous experience in working with ministries and the parliamentary space
- Previous experience in event management
- Knowledge of current topics in global health is an advantage
- Very good oral and written expression skills, including the ability to quickly grasp complex issues and prepare them in an understandable way
- Very good knowledge of German and English in oral and written form
- Strategic, analytical and interdisciplinary thinking as well as political sensitivity
- High teamwork, organizational skills and initiative

The monthly intern allowance is €2,205.04 (gross). The internship may be extended for two months, if necessary
