Area of activity

The global project „Clinic partnerships – partners strengthen health “ is being implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The aim is to improve the health services of partner organizations in countries with low and middle income. For this purpose, the funding program provides temporary and budget-limited funds for international clinic partnerships. This contributes to improved health care and the health well-being of the population in the countries concerned. The German health system will also be able to deal with the challenges of global health (e.g. antimicrobial resistance, pandemics, spreading and new infectious diseases, changes due to climate change,new approaches in telemedicine, prevention or digital health offers and dealing with NCDs and mental health) strengthened. The core task is to promote partnership projects between German organizations in the health sector and partners in countries with low and middle income with the help of financial contributions and technical support.

Your tasks

  • Technical support for clinic partnerships, possibly with specific tasks in crisis contexts, e.g. Syria, Ukraine
  • Responsibility for selected partner countries and contact person for the respective partner organizations
  • Identification and support of the up-scaling of selected clinic partnerships that have particular relevance in their respective national or regional context of health care
  • Regular trips to Germany and partner countries to strengthen the networking of the clinic partnerships both with each other and with relevant stakeholders
  • Assistance with the conceptual planning and implementation of workshops, network meetings and other events in Germany and in the respective partner countries
  • Answering inquiries from political institutions about the funding program and the ongoing clinic partnerships
  • Representation of the funding program for clinic partnerships at events
  • Implementation of cross-sectional tasks such as monitoring, reporting and knowledge management
  • Supporting the clinic partnerships with administrative questions
  • Participation in the conceptual and strategic further development of the clinic partnerships instrument against the background of global health challenges

your profile

Required:

  • Completed university studies in human medicine and first clinical experiences preferred, otherwise university studies in the field of health sciences such as public health / global health, nursing sciences, if possible with a clinical reference or comparable
  • First professional and international experience in international cooperation projects in the patient-related health sector, possibly also in crisis contexts (Syria, Ukraine)
  • Knowledge of the German health system and health systems in countries in the global south
  • Very good organizational, moderation, presentation and communication skills and affinity for international cooperation and networking in the health sector
  • Very high teamwork, skills to quickly grasp complex issues and always maintain a sense of priorities, agile understanding of work and high adaptability and resilience even in challenging situations
  • Willingness to travel even in fragile contexts
  • Confident German and / or English skills in spoken and written; as well as very good knowledge in a third language.

 

Desirable:

  • Initial knowledge and experience in advising political partners on health system strengthening
  • One of the foreign languages is Arabic or French.
