The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex is a product of a concise and comprehensive decision of the Western state under the leadership of Brigadier Adeyinka Adebayo. The committee’s inauguration was on January 15, 1971, and it was comprised of the working party and Professor Hezekiah A. Oluwasanmi; the then vice-chancellor of the University of Ife came up with a working plan of having a Teaching Hospital that would comprise a primary hospital, the nucleus of the teaching hospitals to be called Central hospital, together with a conglomeration of other state hospitals.

Requirements

• Candidates for Junior Residency Training Programme leading to the award of Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCN) and the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) / West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) must possess an MBBS or MBChB Degree or equivalent qualifications plus full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and evidence of completion of / or exemption / exclusion from NYSC including a current practicing license.
• A pass in the relevant primary examination of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African Postgraduate Medical College (Not Compulsory)

Conditions of Service:

• These are similar to those obtainable in the Federal Public Service and Federal Tertiary Health Institutions in Nigeria.

Salary Grade Level
CONMESS 03 Step 02 (N3,782,702.00) annually.
