Job Title: Medical Consultant (Surgery)

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos

• We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Surgeon to join our surgical team.
• The Consultant Surgeon will be responsible for performing surgical procedures, managing pre- and post-operative care, and providing expert clinical guidance in surgical cases. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong surgical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of surgical procedures in line with hospital capabilities
• Evaluate patients and determine the need for surgical intervention
• Manage pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Collaborate with anesthetists, nurses, and other specialists during surgical procedures
• Provide specialist consultations and second opinions
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and surgical staff
• Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
• Monitor patient recovery and manage complications when necessary
• Maintain accurate and detailed surgical and medical records
• Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements and Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Fellowship (FWACS, FMCS, or equivalent) in Surgery
• Valid practicing license with MDCN
• 5–8 years post-qualification clinical experience
• Proven experience in performing surgical procedures
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Subspecialty interest (e.g., General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, etc.)
• Experience working in a private or multi-specialty hospital
• Leadership or supervisory experience

Compensation

• Salary: N1,200,000 – N2,000,000 per month (gross)
• HMO coverage
