What to expect
- Perform a wide range of microbiological tests including culture, sensitivity, and identification of pathogens.
- Analyze specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all laboratory policies, quality assurance, and safety standards.
- Record and interpret results accurately; communicate findings to healthcare providers when necessary.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Essential education, experience and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS)
- Valid license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory, with strong expertise in Microbiology.
- Conversant with good laboratory practice.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
