Job Title:Â Medical Officer
Location:Â Victoria Island, Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Conduct consultations, assess, diagnose and manage patients in OPD with medical and surgical conditions
- Admit, review, and manage in-patients through daily ward rounds. Update treatment plans and discharge patients appropriately
- Attend to emergency cases: triage, stabilize, and provide life-saving interventions before specialist review
- Perform and assist with minor procedures: suturing, IV cannulation, catheterization, wound care, lumbar puncture, etc.
- Order, interpret and follow up on laboratory and radiological investigations.
Patient Care & Communication:
- Counsel patients and relatives on diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and preventive care
- Ensure patient confidentiality, dignity, and informed consent at all times
- Provide health education on chronic disease management, lifestyle, and prevention.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely medical records on EMR/HMIS
- Write admission notes, progress notes, prescriptions, referral letters, and discharge summaries
- Adhere to hospital clinical guidelines, infection control policies, and MDCN code of ethics
- Participate in clinical audits, mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Team & Administrative Duties:
- Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and allied health staff
- Supervise and guide House Officers, interns, and medical students
- Participate in on-call duties, weekends, public holidays and outreach programs as scheduled on the roster
- Ensure proper use and accountability of hospital resources and equipment3.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: MBBS / MBChB from a recognized institution
- License: Current full registration and practicing license with Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria
- Experience: 0-3 years post-NYSC. NYSC completion certificate required.
