Organizational context and scope of action
Under the general supervision of the Head of Mission (CoM) and the Migration Health Officer (MHO), as well as under the direct supervision of the Migration Health Doctor, the successful candidate will be responsible for carry out the following tasks and responsibilities in conjunction with the Migrant Reception Center (MRC) in Bangui, Central African Republic.
1.    Carry out daily nursing activities within the Migrant Reception Center to meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries in the following areas:
a) Medical examinations such as taking vital signs, weight, height and visual acuity;
b) Vaccinations;
c) Treatments and medical references;
d) Pre-departure procedures and medical movements;
e) Documentation, certification and transmission of information; And
f) Any other technical activity required.
2.    Provide migrants and/or refugees with detailed information and explanations regarding:
• The migration health assessment process; And
• Medical references.
3.    Ensure correct identification and appropriate follow-up through:
• A complete collection of medical history;
• Accurate and exhaustive collection of biographical data;
• Identity verification at every stage of the health assessment process; And
• Maintaining a register of beneficiaries subject to medical examinations and analyses.
4.    Apply and follow Health Assessment Program checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain standard universal precautions within the MRC.
5.    Ensure the management and monitoring of the MRC pharmacy, stocks, medical kits and emergency kits within the MRC as well as for medical escorts, if applicable.
6.    Provide pre- and/or post-counseling sessions to migrants or refugees regarding tuberculosis, HIV and communicable disease education, prevention and management, as needed.
7.    Prepare administrative reports and programmatic updates as needed.
8.    Support the planning and implementation of mobile missions, where applicable.
9.    Assist in the preparation of pre-departure documents, information sessions and necessary preparations.
10.    Provide medical escort functions when required to ensure continuity of care for migrants at all stages of the migration process (before departure, during travel and at final destination).
11.    Maintain collaborative relationships with different partners to facilitate monitoring and sharing of relevant information. Partners include IOM internal departments, other healthcare providers, licensed physicians and other relevant parties, as appropriate.
12.    Collect statistical data and share it according to predefined and agreed formats.
13.    Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.Â
Required Qualifications and Experience
TRAINING
- High school diploma with five (5) years of relevant clinical experience, orÂ
- University degree in nursing from an accredited academic institution with three (3) years of relevant clinical experience.
- Valid license authorizing the practice of nursing in the country of assignment
Accredited universities are those listed in theUNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Excellent technical skills.
- Training or experience in the fields of mass vaccination campaigns, communicable diseases, laboratory analyzes or public health is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in clinical nursing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients.
- Knowledge of the principles of disease prevention and health control.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skillsÂ
- Knowledge and experience in implementing patient safety and infection prevention and control measures.
- Mastery of IT tools required: MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).

Languages
All IOM staff members, regardless of category, must have a perfect command of one of the official languages of the Organization (English, French or Spanish).
