How can you make a difference?

The selected consultant will carry out the following activities in collaboration with the technical steering committee composed of the teams from the Immunization Division (DI) and the Health Promotion Division (DivPS):
• Propose a work methodology;
• Develop a consultation timeline;
• Take into account the observations of the technical steering committee;
• Collect and analyze the necessary data and documents;
• Develop the outline of the document;
• Develop the communication strategy document which will be validated in a workshop
• Finalize the Strategic Communication Plan Document for the EPI taking into account the comments collected;
• Submit the final version of the document;
• Write and submit the consultation report.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Master in Social Science, Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Communication for Social and Behavioral Change, or any other fields
  • Have a good knowledge of public health and particularly health communication,
  • Have a good mastery of the EPI mission
  • Have at least two demonstrated experiences in writing communications plan documents, the consultation concerns the development of a strategic communications plan for the EPI

  • Have demonstrated experience in plan development and at least 5 years of experience in the field
  • Have proven experience in facilitating strategic document development workshops
  • Have carried out at least one similar work in a developing country preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa at the level of the United Nations system
  • Have a good command of French
  • Master database management and word processing software (Excel, Word, Power Point under Windows)

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
