OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Contribute to the reduction of mortality and morbidity of mothers, newborns and children and to the promotion of adolescent health and development by strengthening national capacities in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions aimed at improving health status, by establishing effective partnerships with health development partners for an integrated approach to primary health care.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1- Serve as the WHO focal point for the implementation of reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent and elderly health interventions; 2- Support the Ministry of Public Health, other Government departments, Partners and NGOs, in the development, implementation and monitoring/evaluation of policies, strategies and plans relating to maternal health, neonatal -natal, infant and adolescent, including nutrition; 3 – Support the development process, the implementation of norms, quality standards of services and tools contributing to the reduction of maternal, neonatal, infant and adolescent mortality, in particular those relating to clinical and community IMCI; 4 – Provide support for the design and implementation of programs aimed at increasing access of young people and adolescents to disease prevention and health promotion services through school health programs and academic, adolescent health and other initiatives; 5 – Strengthen collaboration between agencies of the United Nations System, bilateral and multilateral partners and NGOs involved in maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health programs, including nutrition; 6 – Support the monitoring/evaluation of nursery, neonatal, infant and adolescent programs and the mobilization of resources; 7 – Provide support for operational research on various aspects of reproductive, child and adolescent health, and nutrition, including the documentation and dissemination of good practices; 8 – Provide technical support for better integration of health programs, particularly those relating to maternal and child health, nutrition and HIV/AIDS, and for strengthening the health system with a view to Universal Health Coverage (UHC). );9 – Carry out all activities required by the WHO Representative
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Essential : Doctorate in Medicine
Desirable : Post-graduate diploma in public health, or engynecology – obstetrics or pediatrics.
EXPERIENCE
Essential : Have practical experience of at least five (05) years in planning, implementation, monitoring and supervision of maternal and child health activities at the national level.
Desirable : Have professional experience working with bilateral or multilateral organizations.
SKILLS
1.Proven knowledge of RMNCAH management in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ability to conduct research and analyze results, identify problems, formulate opinions and draw conclusions and recommendations for strengthening health care systems.2. Good knowledge of health services and rules of security of RMNCAH3.Ability to establish priorities, organize, manage and adapt management style according to needs.4.Ability to build and motivate teams and work under pressure

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at XOF 19,150,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
