Job Title: Nursing Officer

Job Objective
- To ensure quality service delivery to both outpatient and in-patient in patient/client management in the hospital
Reports to:
- Head Nurse, Supervisor IVF/Theatre, Supervisor NICU/Labour , Supervisor In patient, Supervisor Outpatient.
Direct Report:
- Nurses, Housekeepers, Customer service officers, Medical doctors
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Functions within scope of practice delineated by the hospital and demonstrate reliability in meeting deadline and completing responsibility.
- Complies with hospital policies and procedures which include health and safety standards while performing work assignment with minimum supervision and guidance.
- Demonstrates ability to set goals, assign priorities, anticipate problems, establish limits and achieve quality results.
- Functions as a patient advocate-assuring patient’s right to information and ensuring right of drug administration in a timely manner.
- Independently monitors stages of labour and neonatal resuscitation.
- Completes and documents initial and ongoing assessment using the SBAR technique for handover and take over seamless procedure.
- Promotes good public image for the profession and hospital, effectively expresses self, listens attentively and creates a climate of open communication, respects confidentiality and privacy.
- Functions as an integral part of the health care delivery team and participates in the maintenance of a cohesive work environment.
- Contributes to advancement of nurse practitioner practice through education, research, consultation or professional organizational engagement.
- Demonstrates excellence in communication when communication with team members, families and consulting services.
- And any other Adhoc duties.
Educational Qualification
- R.N. / R.M., B.NSc.
- Current practicing license
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year post registration experience

- Must be computer literate.
- Excellent people skills.
- Sealing with emotionally charged situations.
- Professionally skilled.
- Ability to answer questions and offer advice.
