Job Summery
  • The OR Nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal patient care during surgical procedures.
  • He prepares the operating for surgical procedures, assembles instruments and supplies needed in O.R.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort in the operating room environment.
Duties
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and all supplies available.
  • Ensure that the operating room is clean, sterile and ready to go at any time.
  • Serves as a scrub nurse, Assists surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and ensure all medications are administered and charted.
  • Evaluate patients before surgery (e.g., reviewing medical history, medications, allergies).
  • Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Provide post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and administering medications.
  • Educate patients and families on post-surgical care instructions and follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • RN (Registered Nurse) License
  • RPON
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a theater nurse
