Context
As part of the’ improvement of pharmaceutical services in healthcare facilities, HPIC is implementing a project to strengthen pharmaceutical inventory management, staff training and patient awareness of the’ use of medical products.We are looking for a pharmacist/not experienced to lead these essential activities.
Objectives
The main task of the consultant recruited will be:
1. Assess the training and pharmaceutical management needs of the targeted establishments.
2. Design and implement programs for the training and modernization of pharmaceutical services.
Main activities
The pharmacist/consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Needs assessment
o Identify the training needs of pharmacists/nes and health workers in the targeted facilities.
2. Design and implementation of training
o Develop a training program for pharmacists/nes and health personnel.
o Organize and facilitate a three-day training workshop for staff at both institutions.
o Train staff in the use of digital systems for the management of pharmaceutical stocks.
3. Development of teaching procedures and materials
o Create or update the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the management of pharmaceutical inventories.
o Develop a’IEC (Information, Education, Communication) package on the distribution and use of medicinal products and medical products.
4. Mentoring and capacity building
o Establish a mentoring program to train less experienced employees in good pharmaceutical practices.
5. Patient awareness
o Conduct gender-sensitive educational sessions at all three institutions to inform patients about the appropriate use of medical products, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
6. Modernisation of pharmacies
o Develop a pharmacy modernization plan.
o Configure a digital pharmaceutical inventory management system in each facility.
Qualifications and skills required
(minimum Bac+5) with significant experience in pharmaceutical management.
”proven experience in training medical or pharmaceutical personnel.
Knowledge of digital pharmaceutical stock management systems.
5 Skills in drafting procedures and developing educational materials.
”Aptitude for mentoring and capacity building.
”Excellent skills in communication.
