JOB SUMMARY:
The Physiotherapist plays a critical role in assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs for patients, particularly those with limb amputations. Responsibilities include conducting physical assessments, designing individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, and collaborating with prosthetic technicians and medical teams. The role requires clinical expertise in amputee care, empathy, and a commitment to humanitarian principles. Experience in NGO settings and familiarity with advanced prosthetic technologies are highly desirable.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
- Conduct comprehensive physical and functional assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Deliver therapeutic sessions including strengthening, mobility, and balance exercises.
- Train patients in the use of prosthetic limbs and support their adaptation process.
- Collaborate with prosthetic technicians to ensure proper fitting and adjustment of devices.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Provide psychological support and encouragement throughout the rehabilitation journey.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress.
- Participate in awareness and training activities related to rehabilitation and disability care.
- Adhere to professional safety standards and humanitarian ethics.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the manager.
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in rehabilitation, preferably in amputee care.
- Familiarity with advanced prosthetic technologies.
- Previous experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is highly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Language
- good in Arabic (written and spoken).
- good in English (written and spoken).
IT Skills
- Good computer skills, especially in medical documentation and data management.
