Focus on our activities in Honduras
PUI is starting its activities in Honduras, with a first project financed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project will take place in the Department of Ocotepeque, for the provision of primary health services, sexual and reproductive health and mental health for women and children crossing the border with Guatemala or living in the area.
And the SMAPS Activity Manager in all of this?
As Manager of Mental Health Activities and Psychosocial Support (SMAPS), is responsible for the execution of SMAPS activities and for providing technical supervision and leadership for psychologists and Psychosocial Support (APS) officers. He is responsible for the SMAPS team of professionals and ensures that activities are carried out successfully, quality services are provided, Information on activities is collected with data protection and confidentiality criteria and transparent results reports are generated.
For this, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Supervise the team of mental health professionals at the technical level.
- Design and carry out activities specific to your field of action and that of your team .
- Participate in the planning of activities, contribute to analysis and generate reports.
- Provide coaching and training sessions for the SMAPS team and other departments.
- Participate in internal coordination and ensure external representation of PUI.
- Contribute to the development of new proposals and technical development of the program .
What you will need to be successful:
Training:
- University Degree in Psychology.
- Professional card.
- Master’s / specialization in clinical psychology, community or psychosocial intervention would be an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of clinical practice in mental health.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with an NGO.
Desirable:
- Experience in SMAPS care for victims of armed conflict and migration
- Trauma-focused therapy experience
- Experience and ability to work in unstable environments and emergencies.
Competences:
- Good writing skills.
- Knowledge of SMAPS programs.
- Evaluation and plan of psychological treatment, counseling, PAP.
- Group SMAPS interventions.
Desirable:
- SMAPS intervention in humanitarian contexts.
- Knowledge of IASC SMAPS guides.
- Knowledge of the integration of psychosocial support and mental health services in primary health care settings.
Qualities: You are able to work independently, take responsibility, with a proactive approach to make proposals and identify solutions. Good capacity for analysis, organization and management. It will demonstrate diplomacy, broad-mindedness, and good resistance to stress.
Languages: ¿Does Spanish have no secrets for you? Great, because it is essential for this job! If you also speak English, it would be an undeniable advantage.
