OUR MISSION
Médecins du Monde is an international medical development NGO that is part of an international network. We provide medical assistance to vulnerable groups, in Belgium and the rest of the world.
We want universal health coverage where everyone has access to care, without obstacles (financial, cultural, geographical, etc.).
To carry out our mission, we base ourselves on three pillars:
- Heal : provide real access to care to populations.
- Change: more than helping, we want to change things in the long term.
- Testify : we do not remain silent. Thanks to our experience and our presence on the ground, we challenge the powers (local, regional and (international)national) with facts, figures and realities.
Our projects follow a series of values common to our entire organization: Social Justice, Empowerment, Independence, Commitment, Balance.
THE ESSENTIAL
These two social worker positions will ensure the social aspect of activities previously organized by the Athéna Medical Center (which closed its doors at the end of 2025) at the Refugee Medical Point (RMP), operated by the Red Cross from Belgium. The medical component is managed by the Red Cross, while the social component will be provided by Médecins du Monde (MdM) in order to allow people without access to care to obtain the opening of their rights to health and referral to external services, based on their expressed needs.
These two positions will be placed under the hierarchical responsibility of the Brussels Regional Coordinator of Médecins du Monde Belgium.
