OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
One of the key functions of WHO is to lead and coordinate health action by fostering collaboration with stakeholders, including, by mobilizing partnerships and galvanizing the efforts deployed by different health actors to address national health challenges, WHO is working in partnership with the United Nations system, international bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society, foundations, universities, research institutions and communities to improve health and ensure the well-being of populations. In Senegal, the Government cooperates with a multitude of bi-lateral and multi-lateral actors, Funds, Initiatives, non-governmental organizations and health-related structures. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the WHO Representative and the direct supervision of the administrator of the health programmes for women, children and adolescents in the multi-country support team, the incumbent of the position will perform the following main tasks: 1. Assist the country in planning, and, the implementation and monitoring of sexual and reproductive health assessment (SRH) in collaboration with the other bodies involved in this field and in the framework of joint programming the United Nations System and the Country Cooperation Strategy (CPS)2. Support the acceleration of the adoption, adaptation and implementation of the guidelines of the’WHO on sexual and reproductive health including basic and continuing education modules 3. Facilitate an integrated approach to the delivery of quality services and care at each stage of the life cycle of deliverables at all levels of the health system Primary Health Care (PHC) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC), using the approach of self-care and delegating 4 spots. Support the country to improve access of adolescents to sexual health and to their reproductive rights5. Support the country in promoting the improvement of the quality of sexual and reproductive health care 6. Support the monitoring of progress made in achieving these results including in the implementation of the sexual, reproductive, maternal health scorecard, infantile and the’adolescent (SRMNIA)7. Contribute to political dialogue and effective partnerships with bilateral, multilateral, donor, related programmes and civil society for the SSR 8. Contribute to the development of operational research protocols in the field of sexual and reproductive health 9. Support the implementation of innovative solutions including digital health to improve the use of reproductive and maternal health services10. Support documentation /publication of country experiences11. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Essential: – Doctorate in medicine; University diploma superior in gynecology and obstetric and / or in public health
Desirable: – Training on strengthening the health system for Universal Health Coverage or training in Public Health-Training in the field of Humanitarian Emergencies would be an asset
EXPERIENCE
Essential: – At least five (5) years of practical and relevant professional experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of reproductive and maternal health programmes. proven experience in the development and implementation of training programmes in reproductive and maternal health based on WHO guidelines, including,- A good knowledge of the health system of Senegal
Desirable: Experience in administrative support positions within WHO or another UN agency is an asset. • An experience in systems based on Oracle or another similar system to ERP is an asset GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF the problem of gender, equity and human rights• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and related (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc,etc
SKILLS
solid knowledge and skills in the development and management of reproductive and maternal health programs – Knowledge of reproductive and maternal health guides and tools is desirable.- Knowledge and experience in reproductive and maternal health and reproductive rights of adolescents and young people would be an asset.an aptitude to work within multidisciplinary technical teams – A mastery of MS Office and Internet standard software

REMUNERATION
Remuneration included an annual base salary starting at XOF 33,181,000 (subject to mandate deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
