CONTEXT:
In response to needs and as part of its technical expertise, HI has been operating in the DRC since 1995 in numerous sectors and is a recognized player in humanitarian assistance and the logistics field.

  • In Kinshasa, multi-year development projects are being implemented on the themes of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation, Maternal and Child Health, Inclusive Education and Inclusive Governance.
  • In North Kivu, to date, the Goma base is implementing 6 projects:
  • A mobile mental health clinic (ECHO) project in North Kivu (Goma) and South Kivu (Minova)
  • An emergency response project (CDCS) to primary health where HI intervenes through the mental health component integrated into stimulation therapy for MAS children and their families in North Kivu
  • An integrated rehabilitation project with stimulation therapy and mental health (RIMSCASSA-GFFO) in North Kivu. (Mweso, Kitchanga and Goma)
  • A project to prevent multiple risks and violations incurred by vulnerable populations and multi-sectoral response to protection and assistance needs in the face of shocks with a mental health component linked to GBV (PREVENIR-DGD-H)

YOUR PROFILE:

The new 2026-2028 operational strategy has just been validated. What emerges is a desire to diversify activities in the east of the DRC and growth in terms of volume. The year 2026 will therefore be devoted to the development of the new 2026-2028 strategic cycle, the validation of sectoral action plans and with reflections focused in particular on operational emergency response capacities, protection, economic recovery, and improving access to care and rehabilitation services in the DRC, including the question of strategic partnership.

YOUR MISSION:
Under the responsibility of the Technical Head of Program, as a technical field specialist you contribute, in the country where you are based(e), to the implementation of the mandate and ten-year strategy of Humanity and Inclusion. You ensure optimal quality and impact of projects implemented in the country/region, thanks to a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. You contribute to sound management and successful functioning of the overall organization, through paradigm shifts.

In this context, your responsibilities are as follows:

Responsibility 1: Technical expertise

1.1. Contribute to regional strategies in line with global strategies.

1.2. Provide technical support to projects in accordance with overall technical frameworks and standards in its field of activity.

1.3 Ensure technical learning of projects.

1.4 Control and monitor the technical quality and relevance of HI’s activities in programs under its jurisdiction.

1.5. Ensure compliance of the technical proposal with the challenges of the nexus.

1.6. Contribute to the development of research and innovation projects in the region, where applicable, in its sectoral area.

1.7 Contribute to the facilitation of the professional channel of technical divisions within the program.

Responsibility 2: Influence

Contribute to the local external prestige and influence of HI’s expertise in its sector of activity.

Responsibility 3: Opportunity Development

Ensure the development of major opportunities or new projects in the region falling within its sectoral scope.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You hold a diploma in physical and functional rehabilitation (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, ortho-prosthetics, physical rehabilitation medicine)
  • You have 5 years of experience in rehabilitation integrating INGO experience or in both emergency and development contexts,
  • You have experience in rehabilitation strategy development, technical influence, project writing, capacity building and technical consulting,
  • Fluency in written and spoken French is essential, and any local language will be an asset
  • You have experience in team management (management frameworks and tools)

  • 12-month international contract;
  • The international contract allows social security coverage adapted to everyone’s needs:
    • Unemployment insurance levied only for EU nationals;
      • Retirement insurance;
      • Health, repatriation and welfare coverage covered by HI and the employee;
  • Salary : from 2757 € gross/month; depending on professional experience;
  • Perdiem : 677 € net/month – paid in local currency on the land;
  • Hardship: 500 € net/month
  • Paid leave: 25 days a year;
  • R&R 5 Days every 3 months;
  • Unaccompanied position:
    • Coverage of transport costs, visas and transport of your personal effects;
    • From 12 months of mission: a child allowance of 100 € paid from 2 dependent children, paid in local currency in the field;
  • Housing: Collective supported by HI;
  • If you are resident(e) in the country: local package.
