Senior Trainer Paramedic will work both in the medical evacuation program and in the Artesans-ResQ training program in Ukraine. This position involves training and preparing medical teams for operational work in extreme and stressful conditions. The Senior Trainer Paramedic will conduct training sessions and exercises for new and existing paramedics, including simulations of emergency situations, and will develop and update training materials and programs in line with the latest medical standards and protocols. They will also be responsible for assessing paramedics’ skills and knowledge, providing feedback, and making recommendations for improving qualifications. The Senior Trainer Paramedic will collaborate with other medical and operational units to ensure coordinated efforts during evacuations and will provide support and guidance to medical teams during real operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Trainer Paramedic will conduct training sessions and exercises for new and existing paramedics, including simulations of emergency situations. They will develop and update training materials and programs in line with the latest medical standards and protocols. A critical part of their role will be assessing paramedics’ skills and knowledge, providing feedback, and making recommendations for improvement. The Senior Trainer Paramedic will collaborate with other medical and operational units to ensure smooth and effective operations during evacuations. Additionally, they will offer support and advice to medical teams during real-life missions.
Chain of Command:
The Senior Trainer Paramedic will report to the Transport Team Lead in the Intensive Care Unit regarding issues related to the medical evacuation program and to the Training Team Lead regarding issues related to the training program.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medicine, medical assistance, or a related field. Additional certifications in emergency medical services or training will be an advantage.
- Certification:
- Valid paramedic certification or equivalent qualification recognized in Ukraine or internationally. Certifications in critical care, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and instructor certifications are preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience in a trainer, instructor, or leadership role. Experience working in extreme conditions or conflict zones will be a significant plus.
- Skills:
- High level of professional knowledge and practical skills in emergency medical services.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge and experience to others.
- Ability to make quick decisions under stress and provide quality medical care in resource-limited situations.
- Skills in developing and updating training programs, including writing instructional materials.
- Physical Fitness:
- Good physical endurance and the ability to work in various climatic and physical conditions, including extreme situations.
- Language:
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Ukrainian or other languages is an advantage.
- Personal Qualities:
- Responsibility, organization, self-control, stress resistance, and a strong motivation to train others.
