How can you make a difference? Key functions/Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the Pharmacy Assistant will be to provide support in the work to be carried out by the local Coordinator.
He/she will be in charge of:
- Receive, verify and record incoming medications and medical supplies, ensuring they match purchase orders and quality standards.
- Organize and maintain pharmacy inventory in accordance with good storage practices (temperature, humidity, expiration, FIFO/FEFO rotation).
- Perform regular physical counts and inventory reconciliations, reporting any discrepancies.
- Monitor the expiration dates of medications and supplies, identifying and separating those that are about to expire or have already expired for proper disposal, following the organization’s protocols and local regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and order of the pharmacy and storage areas.
- Support in the preparation of orders and shipments of medications and supplies to health centers or distribution points in the field, ensuring correct packaging and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the entry, exit and consumption of medications and supplies.
- Collaborate in the preparation of periodic reports on the stock, consumption and needs of medicines.
- Ensure that all pharmacy-related documentation (temperature records, stock cards, etc.) is complete and accessible.
- Follow the protocols established by the Venezuelan Red Cross in the provision of health services.
- Participate in training and training activities related to your role.
- Execute other tasks assigned by the Local Coordination and/or the National Coordination, which contribute to the fulfillment of institutional objectives.
Report
The Pharmacy Assistant will report to the local Coordinator.

To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system you must meet the following requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy assistant. Minimum experience of one (1) year.
- At least 1 year working with health teams, including doctors, nurses and dentists, in the implementation of medical and community activities.
- Degree in Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent.
- Experience working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Great sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
- Essential: Residing in the city of Coro, Falcón Venezuela state.
