The Production Nutrition and Health Specialist Technician has functions and objectives framed both under Macro Process 2 (production and field support), to which they are hierarchically dependent, and under Macro Process 1 (humanitarian awareness), to which has functional dependency.
The Production Technician will be responsible for training, empowering, and empowering the field teams to ensure the monitoring, quality, support, and supervision of projects and programs throughout the project cycle: a) identification/ formulation, b) planning, c) execution, d) monitoring and e) evaluation. He is responsible for supporting the field to ensure quality, relevance, design, justification and measurement of results throughout the project cycle, as well as driving the scaling of Action Against Hunger intervention approaches and methodologies.
For this, the Production Technician will also have the responsibility of updating and generating knowledge in the areas assigned to them, identifying trends and contributing to the modeling of interventions, always with the ultimate goal of ensuring efficiency, quality and relevance of the contracts and missions it supports. Likewise, he participates in initiatives for technical development, capitalization and dissemination of good practices at the field team level, promoting good practices both at the management level and technical approaches.
The main activities that you will carry out are the following:
- Participate, with the rest of the production team, so that all projects integrate the technical planning, execution and management tools throughout the project cycle for good monitoring and data consolidation at the project and contract level. Proactively ensures direct field support throughout the project implementation process from the identification and design phase to the planning, execution, monitoring and closure phases, ensuring the coherence and technical quality of projects and programs and their alignment with the strategies. It monitors the technical execution of activities and assigned contracts, identifying and supporting the response to risks of under-execution and low quality.
- Proactively provides technical knowledge and strengthens the capacities of field teams through training and information, ensuring the application of protocols and methodologies according to technical competence. Identifies technical development needs and implementation problems to provide feedback for innovation and modeling processes. Participate in the current intervention modeling process, defining pedagogical material for the implementation of modalities and identifying weaknesses in our methodologies, the need for new technical developments and barriers to scaling up intervention modalities. Likewise, it participates in the definition of scaling plans for new intervention modalities.
- It identifies good practices and lessons learned about the modalities of intervention and the different types of activities carried out. Participates in the identification of trends, development of innovative approaches and updating of technical positions in their areas
- He participates actively and regularly in the exchange of information with his functional manager for the elaboration, follow-up, support in the development and updating of the technical strategies in mission. In accordance with the guidelines and priorities established by the Department of Nutrition and Health, he will be in charge of carrying out the action plan identified for him, for each of the assigned technical development areas, creating/selecting evidence, tools and guide documents.
- Will participate in the implementation of training processes both within the technical department and outside it, related to their experience and assigned technical development areas. He actively participates in assigned thematic discussion groups and sharing and outreach spaces, both inside and outside the organization. She is responsible for the development of the action plan for each of the assigned subject areas, creating/selecting evidence, tools and guidance documents.

- Technical profiles (Health Sciences, Public Health…) or any other relevant profile. Postgraduate in a discipline related to humanitarian action and international cooperation
- Specialized knowledge in management and implementation of health and nutrition projects. Knowledge in project planning and implementation. Knowledge of project cycle management. Solid experience in providing technical support to field teams. Continuous training, knowledge and updating capacity in its main areas of technical development. Understanding of issues related to humanitarian action interventions and/or international cooperation. Analytical development and writing skills. Autonomy at work and ability to advise and support field staff in a consultative manner.
- Minimum previous experience of 5 years in different geographical contexts. Experience in the context of the Middle East valued. Previous experience in a similar position both in development programs and in humanitarian crises and emergency responses. Experience in cooperation programs with a health component, including Nutrition. Experience in defining interventions and preparing proposals for donors
- Familiar with international quality standards: Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards, etc. Knowledge of Development Cooperation and Emergency Response. Knowledge of the call processes of the main donors (OFDA, ECHO, SIDA, etc). Experience in coordination positions at the field level. Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary and multisectoral teams. Organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to stay calm under pressure and keep track of established priorities
- Spanish and English. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, OneDrive). Familiar with data management and analysis programs. International mobility. Frequent trips to intervention areas, including unsafe environments. Understanding the importance of gender in humanitarian work and international cooperation
